Who Owns the publication and/or designs the magazine?

Fashion Bombshell Magazine started in October 2012 by Model/Actress Jessica Fiesta George, AKA Fiesta Fashionista.  Jessica handles all design, submissions, emails, marketing, and publishing herself.  She has assistance monitoring Fashion Bombshell Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter from various trusted admins

What is the story behind Fashion Bombshell?

Jessica has been modeling for over 20+ years and has always taken an interest in promoting and mentoring others.  As a way to stay a part of the industry well beyond her modeling/acting career, she wanted an avenue to help promote undiscovered talent from all around the globe.  Many times, models are rejected from being published because they do not fit the norm - high fashion, 5'9", etc. - but there are so many talented photographers and models that never get the recognition they deserve.  May it be pinup, tattoo, alt, petite, etc., there needed to be another venue for everyone to showcase their work.  The name Fashion Bombshell derived from two things - Jessica's model name: Fiesta Fashionista and her involvement as a member of the modeling group, Jayded Bombshells.  As part of a team of diverse models, Jessica realized that her sisterhood of model friends needed to be recognized and a magazine that embraces all forms of modeling was needed.

Jessica had been published in several magazines prior to creating Fashion Bombshell and the layouts, content, and design of many of them lacked personality and she wanted to try something different.  Her decision to create a magazine is more or less a brand.  She wants to ensure that models and photographers need bigger features, more creativity and more opportunities.  The magazine celebrates all genres!

How do you choose your cover models?

Covers are chosen based on picture quality, the composition, and if the photo matches the theme or feel of the issue it will be printed in.  Also, covers are typically chosen based on the submissions received.  The more photos you submit (and if you follow directions - hint hint) the more Jessica has to choose from. Occassionally, there are photos we have seen our fans post on their fan pages and will either invite them to submit and/or will hold contests to drive more quality submissions.

What are your biggest pet peeves?

1)  ASKING FOR THE COVER. Please don't do it. It's such a turn off! Jessica is well aware that every model wants a cover. Sharon has been published nearly 100 times, and has landed the cover of TWO publications, one of which was Fashion Bombshell Magazine...so she understands that every model is hoping for it. The best way to get a cover is to make your photos AMAZING and eye catching!

    2)  SPAMMING or FACEBOOK STALKING!  There is a process.  Follow it.  Constant emails and messages via Facebook take away time from putting the magazine together and doing normal work outside of the magazine.  Jessica has a career in Business Development for a Inc 500/5000 staffing/consulting firm.  The magazine is a hobby.  She doesn't have time spending hours on Facebook or deciphering emails that are unrelated.  The FAQ section and website: www.fashionbombshellmagazine.com has all the processes lined out for ease of use for the model/photographers.

Do you pay your models and/or give free copies? What about tearsheets?

No, we do not pay the models. This is a submission based publication, only... the models/photographers/artists/authors donate their work to us for a number of causes.  Many times, profits from certain publications are designated to be donated to various charities.  Other times, the magazine is a form of marketing/publication for the model to promote themselves.   Jessica even has to purchase her OWN copies of the publications, and there is no way she could afford to send each person their own copy.   She will, however, send a copy to the model that makes the cover and designated "contributing photographers" as a way to say thank you.

However, this is a great platform for models who are just starting out and need to build their modeling portfolio, as well as established models who just want to appear in a quality piece of art.

Tear sheets are provided to the models/photographers that sent in the submission within 2 weeks of their issue being released. It is their responsibility to get a copy of the tearsheet to any party involved in the photo that requests one.
